Carrot halwa is very common in winter season in indian household, when carrots are readily, quite cheap and most flavorsome!
Serves 4-5 people
Ingredients:
- 450 gm grated Carrots
- 3 tbsp ghee
- 2 tbsp Water to cook carrots in steam
- 3 tbsp milk powder
- 150 ml whole milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp almond flour/ powder
- ½ tsp cardamom
- 10/15 raisin chopped
Recipe:
- In a saucepan take ghee and grated carrot to it. Cook the carrot on very low heat for 10 minutes. Add 2 tbsp water to the carrot and let it cook again on low heat for 35 minutes. Make sure to keep stirring to avoid sticking to the base.
- Now add milk and cook for another 15 minutes. Now add milk powder, almond power, chopped raisin and cook for another 15 minutes. Make sure to keep stirring to avoid sticking to the base.
- Now add sugar and cardamom powder and cook for another 10 minutes. Keep stirring every few minutes otherwise because of sugar halwa will stick to the saucepan. Once the halwa is completely dry, switch the heat off.
- Serve hot with Vanilla ice cream or on it’s own!
