My mum’s dal vada are best! She make them quite often and they always desperate in no time.These dal vada are similar to falafel but spicy and less dry. Ideal with a cup of chai!
Ingredients:
- 100 gm mung dal with or without skin
- 1 inch ginger piece (finally chopped/ grated)
- 5-6 green chilies (chopped)
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- salt to taste
- ¼ tsp turmeric
- 2 tbsp gm gram flour
- 250 ml oil
- A pinch of eno or cooking soda
- About 2 tbsp cold water as as required for stiff dough
Recipe:
- Roast corriende seed, aniseed and cumin seeds for 2-3 minutes on low heat till it realised aroma. Now grind it in a coarse powder.
- Fry on medium heat it they are nice and golden and cooked thoroughly . Enjoy while they are still warm!
