Jeera Rice

By adding roasted and socked saffron powder in little water, you an enjoy saffron rice!

Serves 2 people

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup rice
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • 1/2 tsp Jeera (Cumin)

Recipe:

  • Soak rice for at least 10 to 15 minutes.
  • In a saucepan, add ghee and add cumin seeds. Let them crackle.
  • Now add drained rice to the ghee. Stir well to make sure all rice are coated with ghee.
  • Now add boiling water and stir well to make sure rice are not stuck to the pot.
  • Now let it cook on high flame for about 3/4 min. When you can see rice are getting bigger and cooking well, turn the gas to really low heat.
  • Cover the rice with the lid and let it cook for another 8 minutes or so.
    • ** Don’t stir the rice in the middle.
    • By adding chopped carrot and some peas you can enjoy pilau rice!
