Lapsi

Ingredients:

  • 100 gm Broken wheat
  • 50 gm Ghee
  • 325 ml Water
  • 100 gm Sugar
  • 1/2 inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 cardamom whole
  • 5 cloves
  • 1/4 Cardamom powder

Recipe:

  • Heat ghee for about 30 seconds, Don’t leave it unattended
  • add broken wheats
  • add whole spices
  • roast everything for about 5 to 7 minutes on low heat
  • Remove from heat and let it sit for about 30 to 40 seconds
  • add boiling water to this roasted wheat. Be extra careful as it might splash
  • Stir well. Cover the pot with lid
  • cook for 25 to 30 minutes on low heat.
  • Make sure it doesn’t stick to the bottom
  • Once cooked add sugar and stir well.
  • Add cardamom powder and stir well.
  • Ready to enjoy
