Quiche Pastry

I have been making the usual shortcut pastry for quiches until I saw my friend’s video for this pastry recipe. This recipe is from her mother-in-law, and she has learned it from her mother. So, this recipe is two generations old, a French recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 180 gm plain flour
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 85 gm butter/spread
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 50-60 ml water

Recipe:

  • Mix oil and butter and salt in the flour.
  • The mixture will have a wet sand consistency.
  • Add water and make dough.
  • Cover it and let it set for 30 min.
  • Roll and fill the quiche with choice of your filling and cook it without blind backing.
