Ingredients:
250 gm Flour
100 gm sugar
50 ml warm water
35 gm ghee
1/4 to 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1/2 litter oil to fry
Recipe:
In a small bowl, take sugar and warm water to dissolve sugar. You can stir it frequently to speed up the process.
Once the sugar has dissolved, in a large bowl take flour and ghee (ghee should be liquid or very soft). Now add sugary water. Sugary water should be lukewarm to warm. Now start adding to the flour to make dough. Don’t all the water in one go. Add 3/4 of water and then add more as you binding the dough.
Once the dough is made need for 2 to 3 minutes. Divide the dough in 2 parts and roll out like chapatti but quite a bit thick compared to chapati. Once ready, cut them in diamond shape and discard the corners.
Reapeat the process for rest of the dough.
Now fry them in medium hot oil. When you add them to oil, small bibles should appear. Fry sakkarpara for about 5 minutes by making sure they are cooked or lightly golden brown.
